Bernie’s Book Bank celebrated #fREADom last Wednesday at the 108th annual Lake Bluff 4th of July parade.
The team marched alongside the Bernie’s Book Bank truck giving out wristbands and magnets to share our mission with the community.

BREAKING HISTORY
Did you hear the news? Bernie’s Book Bank is partnering with Ryan Avery to attempt to break the WORLD RECORD for the largest book pyramid! A group of dedicated volunteers will count and stack 144,000 children’s books to represent the library of 144 quality books Bernie’s Book Bank provides to every at-risk child served from birth through 6th grade. The construction of this book pyramid is a unique way to raise awareness for the mission of Bernie’s Book Bank and source a large quantity of books for fall distributions.
You can be a part of HISTORY! Visit the volunteer page and sign up on the calendar for the green “Book Pyramid” volunteer shifts. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to build the book pyramid.
DONATE BOOKS AT RAVINIA
Bernie’s Book Bank and Ravinia, North America’s oldest music festival, have teamed up to collect children’s books this summer. During all Kids Concerts, bring your gently used children’s books to the Bernie’s Book Bank tent. Each book donated will earn you a raffle entry to win concert and swag packages including tickets to Jason Mraz, Earth, Wind & Fire, Sugarland, O.A.R., The Gipsy Kings, and more; every donor will also receive 10% off Ravinia’s Festival Shop.
Can’t make it to Ravinia but would like to donate children’s books? Bernie’s Book Bank has 150+ book drop locations including all Wintrust Banks. Find the closest book drop location near you.

Calling all golfers! Join us for the 2018 Birdies & Books Charity Golf Classic on Monday, August 27th at Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest, IL.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: IVANHOE CLUB
Bernie’s Book Bank is proud to introduce a unique and impactful partnership with Ivanhoe Club. The Club, located in Ivanhoe, Illinois, just west of Libertyville, has a rich legacy dating back to 1949. Situated on one of the most beautiful pieces of property in Lake County, Ivanhoe Club offers 27 holes of championship golf along with a variety of high quality amenities.
The Club has the distinction of being regularly recognized as one of the Top 25 Championship Courses in Illinois, and recently had the honor of hosting the PGA Web.com Tour Rust-Oleum Championship which was televised nationally on the Golf Channel.
