The children we serve have been disproportionately affected due to school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Books at home are needed more than ever, especially in the absence of e-learning in many low-income communities. Access to reading materials ensures education will continue outside of the traditional classroom. Books can do more than help with learning, they change the story and provide a much needed escape.
Bernie’s Book Bank remains committed to providing free quality books for under-served children throughout Chicagoland. We’re still hard at work taking whatever steps necessary to distribute books to children in our community and respond to the growing need.
But we can’t do it alone.
We need your support to ensure children have access to books at this unprecedented time.
We’ve launched the “Change Their Story” campaign to effectively respond to the escalating literacy crisis. I’m asking you to donate $12 to provide 12 quality books for an under-served child.
If everyone in our network donated just $12, we would “Change Their Story.” Will you join us by giving $12?
On behalf of the children we serve, thank you for your support!
