The sun was shining, the greens were pristine, and the cause couldn’t be more important. Last week, Bernie’s Book Bank Florida Suncoast hosted the 2nd Annual Bernie Cup at the iconic Longboat Key Club Harbourside, and it was a day to remember.
A Sold-Out Day of Golf and Giving
With 72 players on the course, the Bernie Cup was completely sold out, a testament to the incredible community of supporters who believe, just like we do, that better futures begin with books. From the first tee to the final putt, every swing made a difference for children across Florida’s Suncoast who need access to free, high-quality books of their own.
A special thank you to our Bernie Cup Captain and Suncoast Advisory Board Member Todd Kontny, whose leadership and dedication made this event a memorable experience for every player and sponsor in attendance.

Golf is fun. Winning is great. But the real highlight of the Bernie Cup? Because of the generous support of our players and sponsors, Bernie’s Book Bank Florida Suncoast will be able to provide free, high-quality books to more than 2,750 children across the Suncoast.
That’s 2,750 children who will have books of their own, books to spark curiosity, fuel imagination, and build the in-home libraries that research shows are one of the strongest predictors of a child’s long-term academic success.
