Bernie’s Book Bank is expanding its impact with a new 30,000-square-foot processing center in Glendale, Wisconsin. The facility will serve as a hub for sorting, sticker application, and distribution, allowing the organization to reach more children across Milwaukee and surrounding counties.
Executive Director Jenna Renno shared in her FOX6 interview that the goal is to provide eight free, high-quality books per year to every child from birth through 6th grade. By the end of 2026, Bernie’s Book Bank hopes to serve 40,000 children annually in Greater Milwaukee—and double that by 2027—with help from volunteers and community partners.
The new center marks an important step in the nonprofit’s mission to close the literacy gap and ensure all children have access to books at home. As Renno noted, “Reading is the single most important skill a child needs to succeed in life.”
