Distribution Partners

PARTNER WITH US TO GET BOOKS INTO THE HANDS AND HOMES OF CHILDREN WHO NEED THEM MOST

Reading is the single most important skill a child needs to succeed in life. Yet, too many children lack books, especially books of their own, in their homes. At Bernie’s Book Bank, we’re here to change that. Driven by the knowledge that better futures begin with books, we work with various distribution partners to deliver free, high-quality books to WIC programs, community groups, and qualifying schools and school districts.

To qualify for partnership, a minimum of 40% of the school’s students must be eligible for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program or the school’s Title I status must be “schoolwide.”

We distribute books through Under Six (U6) organizations, like WIC offices. We do not have the ability to offer book delivery directly to individual homes.

Our Chicago Chapter currently partners with organizations in five Illinois counties: McHenry, Lake, Cook, DuPage, and Will. Our Milwaukee Chapter currently partners with schools in Milwaukee County.

At this time, we do not have a system to deliver books to homeschooled children.

We are laser-focused on getting books into the hands and homes of children who need them most, building them in-home libraries of their very own. We do not provide books specifically for classrooms.

We currently use all our production capacity and book supply to meet our commitment to our 700+ school and U6 partners. Because we are actively working to onboard new schools from our waitlist, we cannot provide books for other non-profit organizations at this time.
