Every child deserves the opportunity to discover the joy of reading, and for thousands of children across Greater Milwaukee, that opportunity starts with a bag of books they can call their own.
Bernie’s Book Bank is expanding its impact with a new 30,000-square-foot facility in Glendale, Wisconsin. The new facility will support a growing network of volunteers and help distribute free, high-quality books to children from birth through sixth grade across Greater Milwaukee.
That mission is backed by research. A five-year study conducted in partnership with education researcher Dr. Geoffrey Borman found that students who received books through Bernie’s Book Bank achieved higher literacy outcomes than their peers, reinforcing what volunteers and educators have witnessed for years: access to books changes lives.
Join us as we celebrate this exciting milestone.
