Volunteer-A-Thon was a high energy event focused on processing books for Chicagoland children, learning more about Bernie’s Book Bank and enjoying a few hours with like-minded book lovers. Volunteers took advantage of the great opportunity to give back, meet new people and and support Bernie’s Book Bank’s mission to empower Chicagoland children through book ownership.

You don't have to work in education to know that there are many factors in learning to be a successful reader, but none is as important as having actual access to personal books. Bernie's Book Bank comes walking right into the classrooms on a regular basis and makes the impossible possible for these children.
