Beth first came across Bernie’s Book Bank back in 2011. She was coordinating service related volunteer time for a youth group she was assisting. They were looking for new ways to give back to the community. Eventually, her family also began to volunteer their time at the Processing Center . Beth even introduced Bernie’s Book Bank to her Elementary School Librarian as a way to give back to the community through book drives.
Previously, Beth was employed for over 16 years at Kildeer School. Her first 5 years were working in the school’s main office. The next 10 years were as a Paraprofessional in the Library/Learning Center. In the Library, Beth thrived on connecting children with books. She gained a deep understanding of all the things it takes to make a great reader. Her excitement for children’s books and the love of reading every one of them is hard to miss.
In her new role at Bernie’s Book Bank, Beth will be the Distribution Liaison. She will be working to distribute books to all the at-risk children in Chicagoland. She can’t wait to make a difference in as many children’s lives as possible!
Beth currently lives in Buffalo Grove with her husband, daughter and her beautiful little West Highland Terrier named Chloe. Her two older children are venturing out in their own lives as young adults.
